Hello friends!  Today’s post is for all of you who have kids, particularly girls.  My sweet girls both have long-ish hair that gets tangled when we wash it during bath time and would cringe as we brushed their hair after bath.  And don’t even get me started on the crazy bed head they wake up with–talk about knots.  So, we started using detangler.  But I quickly became sick and tired of buying expensive detangler spray that did not work well and that smelled bad.  So I finally decided to make some of my own and it is absolutely AMAZING. Best of all, it is so, so easy to make.

Materials needed:

Steps:
1) Put 2–3 tablespoons of your favorite conditioner in your spray bottle.

2) Fill up the spray bottle the rest of the way with warm water.
3) Add 2–3 drops of essential oil for scent if you like.  I used Lavender essential oil in the one we use after their bath so that it also helps calm my girls into a peaceful sleep at night!  They LOVE how it smells.

4) Shake.
5) Spritz on wet or dry hair.  It works equally well on both!  That means it’s perfect for after bath time AND in the morning, to tame that crazy bed head.

That’s it!  Like I said, it’s so easy!  It works fabulously and never leave my girls’ hair feeling heavy or greasy.  And it certainly makes brushing their hair a more pleasant experience for all of us :)  No more, “ouch Mom, your hurting my hair!”  Now it’s just, “that smells good!  Spray me again!”  Happy kids, happy mom.

How do you get the Lavender oil that I use? You can order it retail from my Young Living page. It’s also one of the eleven bottles of oil in the Premium Starter Kit {which also comes with a diffuser to handle room odors and/or using the oils for wellness via inhalation}. I can’t recommend the Premium Starter Kit enough, it’s an incredible value for getting started with these amazing oils.  It’s how I got started and now I am totally addicted!
